XLS is a file format used by Microsoft Excel for storing spreadsheet data. It is based on the Binary Interchange File Format (BIFF) and stores information in binary format. XLS was the default file format for Excel until the release of Excel 2007 when it was replaced by the newer XLSX format, which is XML-based and has a more open structure.
EPSF and EPS both stand for an identical format. EPSF, or Encapsulated PostScript Format, is a vector file format developed by Adobe in the late 1980s for professional and high-quality image printing. It retains individual coding on color and size, allowing images to maintain their resolution when scaled. EPSF was designed to simplify the incorporation of images and illustrations into text-based documents.
