Convert JIF to VIPS
Convert JIF images to VIPS format, edit and optimize images online and free.
The JIF (Joint Photographic Experts Group Interchange Format) is a standard for compressing and encoding digital images. Initially introduced in 1992 by the Joint Photographic Experts Group, JIF became widely adopted due to its efficient lossy compression method, which significantly reduces file size without a substantial loss in image quality. Primarily used for web graphics and digital photography, JIF has influenced the development of other formats like JPEG and its various subtypes, ensuring high compatibility across different platforms and devices.
The VIPS (Virtual Image Processing System) file format, developed by the libvips library, is designed for high-performance image processing with low memory usage. It supports arbitrary metadata and is optimized for command-line operations. Although not widely supported by other programs, it serves as an efficient intermediate format for tasks like image inversion and gamma correction. The format includes a 64-byte header with basic fields such as image width and a set of band-interleaved scanlines for the image data.
Upload a JIF image by dragging it into the designated area.
Choose optional JIF to VIPS tools for advanced conversion.
When the VIPS status is successful, download the file immediately.
Rotate JIF to right (90° clockwise), to left (90° counter-clockwise), 180°, and convert it to VIPS.
Flip JIF vertically and/or horizontally (flop), and convert it to VIPS.
Execute Vertopal CLI commands to convert JIF image into VIPS image.
