The PPM which stands for Portable Pix-Map is a simple structured RGB raster image format designed by Jef Poskanzer in the 1980s. It was designed to easily exchange binary images between different platforms.
APNG (Animated Portable Network Graphics) is an animated raster image format first introduced by Mozilla in 2004. It was created to extend the PNG standards to add support for animated images.
