An XLC file is a chart created by Microsoft Excel. It stores data from an Excel spreadsheet that was exported into the Chart format. However, support for XLC files was dropped with the release of Excel 2007 and they are now rare since they are no longer supported by Excel.
An XLTX file is an Excel Open XML spreadsheet template used to build multiple XLSX files with the same layouts and formatting. It can be opened, edited, and saved in Microsoft Excel. XLTX uses XML as data structure and ZIP as data compression to reduce the file size.
