How to work with the Format Chooser?

Format Chooser for fast switching to different converter pages.
You can see the Format Choosers at the top of all converter pages as well as the Vertopal home page.

We have two types of Format Choosers in Vertopal:

  1. Source Format Chooser: used to select the source format that is the same format as your uploaded file is supposed to be. Source Format Chooser that opens by click on the first button with icon at the top of the page, just before the word "to".
  2. Target Format Chooser: used to select the target format that is the same format you want to convert your uploaded file to. Target Format Chooser that opens by click on the second button with icon at the top of the page, just after the word "to".

On one of the sides of Format Chooser, there are file type categories that you can use and scroll down to find your format.
However, in the Format Chooser, you can easily enter the name/extension/keyword on the search box and find the desired format.

  • If the source format is found in the Source Format Chooser, Vertopal supports your source format. You can upload it without error and convert it to other formats.
  • If you selected the source format in the Source Format Chooser and the target format is found in the Target Format Chooser, then Vertopal supports this file conversion.

If you did not select the source format in the Source Format Chooser, the Target Format Chooser displays all the formats that Vertopal can convert different files to. So displaying all target formats does not mean that all source formats can be converted to target formats. By selecting a source format in the Source Format Chooser, the target formats in the Target Format Chooser may be reduced depending on your selection.

If you upload the file without error, the Source Format Chooser will recognize your file format and selects it automatically.
Another Target Format Chooser will also appear in the uploaded file row, this Format Chooser is a shortcut to the main Target Format Chooser and is no different.
