The XLSM file extension stands for Microsoft Excel Macro-Enabled Spreadsheet. Unlike the more common ODS format, which uses a ZIP container, FODS files are not supported by Microsoft Excel but can be opened with OpenOffice Calc. This format was introduced as part of the ODF 1.2 specifications by OASIS.
