An XLW file is an Excel Workspace file that stores the layout of workbooks. It restores the physical layout of workbook files when opened. Some XLW files are actual Excel Workbook files created in Excel v4.
The FODS file format is used by programs such as OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice to store spreadsheets as flat XML files. Unlike the ODS file format, FODS files store data in a simple text format with XML code that can be read in a text editor.
