STC is a file format for StarOffice Calc Spreadsheet Template originally developed by StarOffice software. It contains settings for creating other spreadsheets and was later adopted by Apache OpenOffice but eventually replaced with the OTS file format. STC files can be opened using OpenOffice Calc, Planamesa NeoOffice, and LibreOffice.
The FODS file format is used by programs such as OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice to store spreadsheets as flat XML files. Unlike the ODS file format, FODS files store data in a simple text format with XML code that can be read in a text editor.
