The WKS file format is a spreadsheet document created by Microsoft MS Works. It is similar to Excel but with fewer features. WKS files from Works 2000 and 4.x can be viewed with Excel 2003 and later, despite MS Works being discontinued. They can still be converted to common formats using Vertopal.
The FODS file format is used by programs such as OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice to store spreadsheets as flat XML files. Unlike the ODS file format, FODS files store data in a simple text format with XML code that can be read in a text editor.
