Convert WOFF to FON

The WOFF (Web Open Font Format) file extension is a font file format used in web development. Introduced by the Web Fonts Working Group at W3C, it enhances web typography by enabling the use of custom fonts. WOFF files are compressed and include metadata, providing efficient loading and improved performance. Developed to address the limitations of standard font formats on the web, WOFF became a W3C Recommendation in 2012, ensuring broad compatibility across modern browsers. Its primary use is to deliver non-system fonts to users, offering a richer and more flexible typographic experience on websites.

The FON file extension, part of the Windows Font Library, refers to a font library file used in Microsoft Windows 3.x. It is essentially an executable file renamed to FON, containing a collection of FNT files, which are bitmapped or stroked fonts. These files were used by applications to access system fonts. However, FON files are now obsolete, having been replaced by TrueType and OpenType fonts due to their limitations, such as the inability to resize fonts.
