An XLK file is a backup file created by Microsoft Excel. It contains a backup copy of an Excel spreadsheet and is used to recover data if the original file is lost or corrupted. XLK files can be opened with Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice Calc, but the formatting may not be fully supported.
The FODS file format is used by programs such as OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice to store spreadsheets as flat XML files. Unlike the ODS file format, FODS files store data in a simple text format with XML code that can be read in a text editor.
