Minolta Raw Image (.mrw)

The MRW file extension, short for Minolta Raw Image, is a raw photo file format developed by Minolta for their Dimage digital cameras. It stores uncompressed, unprocessed image data directly from the camera's CCD sensor, allowing photographers extensive post-processing control over elements like exposure and color balance. After Sony acquired Minolta, the MRW format was gradually replaced by Sony's ARW format, but MRW files remain in use, especially with legacy Minolta cameras.
